CAMP INSTRUCTIONAL ACTIVITIES OFFERED:
Equestrian Program, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Sailing, Waterfront/Aquatics, Dance, Music/Band, Fine Arts/Crafts, Theater, Musical Theater, Gymnastics, Team Sports, Basketball, Volleyball, Academics, and more. As Well As The Above Activities Wa-Klo Now Offers: Stained Glass, 2D Art, Fencing, Windsurfing, As Well As Being A Traditional, All-around, Uniform Camp.
CAMP LOCATION: We are located in the beautiful, southwest corner of New Hampshire at the foot of Mount Monadnock. Wa-Klo is about 15 minutes from the Massachusetts state line and 40 minutes from the Vermont border. Our closest airport is Boston Logan. CAMP FACILITIES: Camp Wa-Klo has Rustic and comfortable cabins, each with a toilet and sink, the cabins for our younger campers are equipped with a shower and a amazing view of Thorndike pond.
We have a large indoor gym with 6 Basketball nets and 2 volleyball nets. There is also a fully equipped fitness area with tread mills and weights as well as a Dance Studio. Our our ever growing Arts and Crafts centre and our new Stained Glass area which has proved very popular with our campers is also situated here.
In our large dining room we serve our hot meals 'family style' as well as offering Salad bars every Lunch and Dinner and a selection of fruits and yougharts at breakfast.
Wa-Klo is set at the foot of Mount Monadnock on the beautiful Thorndike pond. We have a vast array of water sports that we offer. A large swimming area with a slide and diving board as well as: Crew, Kayaking, Canoeing, Sailing, Windsurfing and Water skiing/Wakeboarding have their own docks spread along our lenghty shore front.
Wa-Klo also has a large equestrian area. The horseback riding facilities consist of a very large all weather arena, show jumping field, a smaller riding arena and nine loose boxes, with direct access to miles of wooded off-road trials riding.
Our Land activities program is ever growing, we have three outdoor tennis courts, an archery area with 6 targets as well as a 'field archery' course for our more advanced archers. This has been described as being like 'the hunger games'. We have a large field set up for: Soccer, Field Hockey and Lacrosse. As well as all of these amazing activities we also offer: Fencing and Gymnastics which take place at our 'chill out' area equipped with: Hammocks, Carpet ball, Tetherball and a rec centre where our campers can play table tennis, play board games or simply chill with a book on the couches.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Wa-Klo is a traditional 3, 4, or 7 week sleep-away summer camp for girls in grades 1-12 with a special 2 week options for grades 1-5. Wa-Klo is located in beautiful New England in the southwest corner of New Hampshire. With an outstanding staff with relevant qualifications to their jobs, beautiful facilities, strong programming, and quality instruction, we provide girls with a positive and safe summer camp experience.
Wa-Klo is a unique camp community that allows girls to meet new challenges and gain a sense of accomplishment. Each girl creates her unique activity schedule allowing individual interests to flourish and grow naturally. Girls choose from the arts, dance, music, drama (plays & musicals), individual and team sports, an array of waterfront activities, horseback riding (English equestrian), animal care, ever growing Art program including Stained Glass and much more.
For girls in grades 10-12, we offer leadership opportunities. The Leadership Training Group (LTG's) learn to be quality counselors, complete community service projects, go on a college tour, and lead all-camp events.
Wa-Klo's mission is to develop a girl's connection with community, the environment, and within herself. With awesome special events, trips, camping overnights, and evening activities for everyone, the excitement never ends. Wa-Klo is a magical summer camp where a diverse group of girls come together to make lasting friendships, new discoveries, and, most importantly, have fun! Camp Wa-Klo is truly one camp with countless opportunities.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: For girls in grades 10-12, we offer leadership opportunities. The Leadership Training Group (LTG's) is based over two summers with progressive learning to be quality counselors, the program includes running all-camp events, assisting in activities, living in a bunk with younger campers as well as complete community service projects and going on a college tour.
